How to read a GMADA allotment letter on a resale plot

For anyone searching property in Mohali, plots in Aerocity Mohali, plots in Phase 8 Mohali.

Auction resale is not a screenshot of a bid. The letter, the receipt, and the use are the file.

People are buying resale of sites that GMADA auctioned. The March round, as The Tribune reported on 7 March 2026, sold 37 of 42 sites for ₹3,136.97 crore. The August round, as Hindustan Times reported, sold 27 properties for ₹5,391 crore. The Sector 62 mixed-use parcel was ₹1,742.31 crore. None of that is your 200 sq yd plot. A reseller who divides the headline by the acres is selling arithmetic.

  • Ask for the allotment letter and the payment receipt, not a photo of the bid screen.
  • Read the use: residential plot, SCO, hospital, or mixed use. Sector 62’s acres are not a house plot.
  • Match the sector and the site number to the letter. A pocket letter in Aerotropolis is not an Aerocity block.
  • September’s Enforcement Directorate notices do not rewrite your letter. They are a reason to trust the paper more, not a forwarded ‘inside reserve’.

The decision: if the letter is missing, or the use on it is not the use in the pitch, do not transfer the token. The live desk can sit with the letter. It cannot invent one.
