The Sector 87 award did not happen on the day it was meant to

The Tribune, 25 September: after a 50-hour ED search, GMADA postponed the 196.44-acre award for the Sector 87 commercial expansion. No new date was fixed.
The Tribune reported on 25 September 2026 that, the day after the Enforcement Directorate ended a search of about 50 hours at the GMADA office, the building was barely working. Departments were described as dysfunctional. In that quiet, the award for 196.44 acres in Sohana, Manakmajra, Nanumajra and Sambhalki — land for expanding the commercial area of Sector 87 — was postponed with no fresh date. Sohana’s numberdar told the paper he was informed by subordinates, not by a notice.
The same report noted a fear that a 29 September meeting with IT City allottees on enhancement charges might slip as well. Punjab’s finance minister had said, a day earlier, that the search had already cost the authority three days of work. None of this creates a Sector 87 SCO you can book. It removes the date on which the acquisition step was supposed to move.
